mural: Garden Station { November 2009 - Dayton, Ohio }
Mural painted for the Wayne Ave. Corridor Commitee in Dayton. Ten artists were selected to paint a garden theme to "brighten" this corner of town which is underneath a train overpass. It was very cold, windy, and loud but a nice rare opportunity to paint at a huge scale.

This piece was selected to be part of the Color Restrained exhibit at the Visceral Gallery. The competition was limited to works which emphasized the contrast of black and white.

runner-up The Borgman Challenge, Cincinnati Equirer { 2007, Cincinnati }
Readers were asked to submit cartoons to a competition to mark the 30th anniversary of
Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist Jim Borgman. I was lucky enough to be a runner-up.
I've looked at his drawings for years and it's great to know he looked at one of mine.
